Berniece (Bullock) McHargue

Mrs. Carol Berniece Bullock McHargue, age 66, wife of Blaine McHargue,  passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at her home with family by her side.  She was born in Stanford, Ky. on August 6, 1949, the daughter of Hoover and Lucille Bullock. Berniece enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, A’Kedra, her “sweet baby”. She also cherished her special babies—her cats and dogs. She was active in county politics and was of the Catholic faith.   Berniece enjoyed being the coordinator of the Mt. Vernon High School Alumni Association, on the board of Directors of McKinney Cemetery, supporter of the Bittersweet Festival and helping to map the cemeteries of Rockcastle County.

Berniece is survived by her husband, Blaine McHargue, whom she married August 4, 1976.  Also surviving is one son: Jeff Waddle (Ada) of Somerset, Ky.; one granddaughter:  A’Kedra Law of Somerset, Ky. and one brother: Earl Bullock (Brenda) of Somerset, Ky.; nephew, Shannon Bullock, niece , Melanie Bullock and great-nephew, Logan Bullock.  Berniece is also survived by a special friend, Brenda Hayes and a host of other friends and neighbors.

Visitation for Berniece McHargue will be Monday, January 18, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 1 pm at the funeral home chapel with Father Joseph Von Handorf officiating. Burial will follow in the Bullock Family Cemetery, 2257 Old Mt. Vernon Road.

Casket bearers are: Shannon Bullock, David Mink, Glenn Vanwinkle, Willard Kay Allen, Buzz Carloftis, Arlis McFerron and George Miller.
