Betty Ann Glovak

Mrs. Betty Ann Glovak, age 80 of Brodhead, Ky., passed away Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

She was born on May 22, 1936 in Brodhead, Ky., the daughter of the late John C. Newland, Sr. and Virginia Loraine Sayers Newland.  She was a retired Educator, having taught Home Economics for over forty years.  She was a member of Brodhead Christian Church, the Thursday Club, Rockcastle Retired Teachers Association, Past District President of K.T.R.S and a Board Member of Rockcastle Community Scholarship Fund.  Betty found great joy in U.K. Basketball, quilting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a collector of family genealogy and an avid reader.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children: Theresa G. (Mark) Davis of Bee Lick, Ky; Lora L. (Russ) Mullins of Bee Lick, Ky; her grandchildren: John Mark Davis, Rachael Loraine Davis, Robert Allan Davis and Lucas Blaine Mullins. Her brother: John C. Newland, Jr. of Brodhead. As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John B. Glovak, III.

Visitation for Mrs. Betty Glovak will be Sun. May 14, 2017 from 6-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be held Mon. May 15, 2017 at 11AM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Shannon Franklin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sayers Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rockcastle Community Scholarship Fund in Betty’s memory.
