Carol Jean (Purcell) Riddle

Mrs. Carol Jean (Purcell) Riddle of Brodhead passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital after a short illness.  She was surrounded by her family.  Mrs. Riddle was born June 8, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, Ky. to the late Cecil and Flora Mae (Brown) Purcell.  She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School . She was a retired employee of Rockcastle County School Systems as a secretary and assistant. She was a member of Brodhead Baptist Church.  She enjoyed activities such as: Thursday’s Club, NOAH Club, and enjoyed being around family and friends such as Celena’s Little Old Ladies.  She was joined in marriage to William (Billy) D. Riddle on March 4, 1952.

Those left to celebrate her life are her daughter Vicki (Gary) Scott, daughter Cheryl Brown, and son David (Sandi) Riddle, all of Brodhead, Ky.  Her five grandchildren: Angie (David) Lewis of London, Ky., Corey (Lindsey) Scott of Berea, Ky., Weston Riddle of Brodhead, Ky, Jared (Kara) Brown of Brodhead, Ky. Kyle (Chelsea) Riddle of Berea, Ky.  Her four great-grandchildren: Riley and Ivy Lewis, Keegan Riddle and Adlee Scott. Her brother Tom Purcell of Frankfort, Ky. Her sister  Judy (Jim) Dreaden of Centerville, Ind. and sister-in-laws Johnnie Purcell of Kettering, Oh and Rissie Purcell of Boston, Ind and numerous special nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William (Billy) Riddle, by her parents, Cecil and Flora Mae Purcell, two infant sisters Charlotte Kay, and Glenna Marie; brothers William (Billy) Purcell and James (Jimmy) Purcell.

Visitation for Mrs. Carol J. Riddle will be Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 6-9Pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 29, 2017 at 11AM at the funeral home with David Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery, Brodhead, Ky.

Casket Bearers will be Gary Scott, David Lewis, Weston & Kyle Riddle, Corey Scott, and Jared Brown.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be all of her Great-Grandchildren.
