Deborah Elizabeth (Bishop) Cummins

Mrs. Deborah Elizabeth Bishop Cummins, age 56, of Mt. Vernon KY. departed this life May 24, 2016 at her residence.

Deborah entered this life July 6, 1959 in Lake Worth, Florida the daughter of David and Barbara Lake Bishop. She acquired a Masters degree and Rank I, was an Educator and Counselor, having taught in Livingston, Roundstone, Brodhead and Mt. Vernon, in addition to teaching 4th Grade at Mt. Vernon Elementary. She was a member of Brodhead Christian Church and Ridge Top Shawnee Tribe; she found great joy in gardening, rock collecting, reading and science. On October 7, 1989 she was united in matrimony to Mark Cummins. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband of 26 years : Mark Cummins of Mt. Vernon, KY;  her children: Jay Stevens of Mt. Vernon, KY; Shaunna Stevens (Johnathan Saylor) of St. Simons Island, Georgia;  and Jessica Cummins of Mt. Vernon, KY;  her grandchildren: David Powell, Coleson & Chloe Stevens all of Mt. Vernon, KY; and Vivienne Saylor of Georgia; her parents: David and Barbara Lake Bishop of Mt. Vernon, KY; her brothers: Shannon Bishop (Angie) of Brodhead, KY; and Chris Bishop (Sabrina) of Mt. Vernon, KY; her sister: Marilyn Reddington of Mt. Vernon, KY. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Visitation for Mrs. Deborah Cummins will be Friday May 27, 2016 from 5:30-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Celebration of life services will be conducted Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 12:30PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel with Bro. Bruce Ross officiating. In Lieu of flowers and gifts all Donations may be made in Deborah Cummins memory to the American Cancer and Kidney Cancer Association.  Condolences to the family may be made at www.marvineowensfuneralhome.com
