"Dorothy" Mae (Morris) Renner

Mrs. “Dorothy” Mae Renner, age 81, wife of Arlie of Mt. Vernon, departed this life Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Berea Healthcare in Berea, Ky.

She was born on March 16, 1934 in Jepp Hill, Ky., a daughter of the late James Walter and Stella Furmon Morris.  She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and found great joy in sewing, quilting and serving others, as demonstrated by her being a cook at Red Top Restaurant and Pine Hill School for a combined twenty-six years. On October 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Arlie Renner and from that union came four children: Judy, Vickie, Arlie Lee and Sheila.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Arlie Renner, Sr. of Mt. Vernon,Ky.;  her children: Judy Baker of Harrodsburg, Ky., Vickie Barnes (Joe Edd) of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Arlie Lee Renner, Jr. (Patty) of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; and Sheila Hurst (Garry) of Brodhead, Ky;   Grandchildren: Kim, Dana, Wes, Amy, Autumn, April, Dustin, Nicholas and Jason. Great  grandchildren: Luke, Halli, Jagger, Thea Grace, Gunnar, Trent, Landon, Logan, Tyler,Conner, Jacob, Xavier, Maddan, Olivia.  Great-great grandchild: Ross.  Sisters: Virgie Kelly of Mt.Vernon, Ky.; and Shirley Gilliam (Kenneth) of London, Ky.   As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Linzie Morris and Fred Morris; and a sister: Pauline Hammond.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 6-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted  Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 2PM                                                with Bro. Wayne Harding officiating.  Burial will follow in Ottawa Cemetery.
