George Burkhart

Mr. George Burkhart, age 83, of Eubank, KY. passed away Thursday August 18th, 2016 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, TN. Mr. Burkhart was born on February 9th, 1933 to the late Otis and Alifair (Taylor) Burkhart in Lesilie County, KY. On July 10th, 1960, Mr. Burkhart joined the Army where he proudly served his country as a PFC. E-3 199 689 ORDC.  He was a machinist by trade and enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Those left to celebrate Mr. Burkhart’s life are his children Teressa Hayes of Chicago, Ill., Kathy Lynn Burkhart of Daytona Beach,  Fl., Georgina Ackerman of Port Orange, Fl., Danny Ray Burkhart of Keavy, KY. and Christopher of Keavy, KY.;  stepchildren Paul Felson, of Chicago Ill. and Connie Felson of Chicago, Ill.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Clark (Loraine) Burkhart of Savana, TN. and Orville (Bernice) Burkhart of Mt. Vernon, KY.; a sister Opal (Glen) Burke of Brodhead, KY.; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents Mr. Burkhart was also preceded in death by his wife Betty (Kelley) Burkhart; brothers Earl, William and Benny Burkhart; and an infant sister Joyce Burkhart.

Visitation for Mr. Burkhart will be held from 11AM until the funeral hour of 2PM on Sunday August 21st, 2016 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Tommy Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Carpenter Cemetery in Livingston, KY.
