Hubert James Brown

Mr. Hubert J. Brown, age 88, Brodhead, Ky., widower of Lula Mae Bowen Brown passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center.  He was born in Crab Orchard, Ky., October 21, 1927 a son of the late Dan Logan Brown and Dovie Hayes Brown.  He enjoyed farming, reading, watching westerns on TV and tinkering with appliances.  He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mr. Brown was a member of Beulah Church of God, Eubank, Ky.

Mr. Brown is survived by his son: David Brown (Betty) of Brodhead, Ky.; his daughters: Elaine Merrick (Dave) of Somerset, Ky. and Marilyn McKinney of Brodhead, Ky.; his grandchildren: Jay McKinney, Michael McKinney, Jeffery McKinney, Susan Brown Turley, Jennifer Brown Hicks and Amanda Vann Thomas; great-grandchildren: Abigail Mae Owens, Madeline McKinney, Iverson Isaiah Thomas and Brett Owen Thomas; brothers:  Harold Brown (Roberta) of Brodhead, Ky. and Vanous Brown (Clara) of Crittenden, Ky.; sisters:  Lydia Cable of Brodhead, Ky. and Maggie Cable (Donald) of Crab Orchard, Ky. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by brothers :  Alonzo Brown and Dallas Brown (infant) and a sister: Louvenia Wilson.

Visitation for Mr. Hubert Brown will be Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 6-9 pm and again on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 11 am-2 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Sister Jessica Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery.
