Imogene "Jean" Cross

Mrs. Imogene “Jean” Cross, age 82, of Wilmore, KY., passed away Sunday October, 2nd, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Cross was born in Griggsville, Ill., on December 11th, 1933 to the late James Farris and Muriel (Preecher) Higdon. She worked for 34 years in the business office of St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY., Kings Daughter for several years and Madison County Health department for several years. Mrs. Cross enjoyed flowers, gardening, trees and poodles. She was also the Apple Queen at Griggsville High School, and found great joy in donating to animal abuse rescues and adoption centers.

Those left to celebrate her life are: her son Clinton Cross of Crab Orchard, KY.; two grandchildren Clinton Chadston “Chad” (Irene) Cross of Berea, KY. and Jessica Cross George (Lance) of Lexington, KY.; two great-grandchildren Luke and Ava Reene George; a brother Donald Higdon (Rena whom recently passed) of Peoria, Ill.; a caregiver Jill Reene Mcknight; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by a late life friend Frank Rice; a brother Leslie Hidgon and a sister Lucille Myers.

Visitation for Mrs. Cross will be held on Tuesday October 11th, 2016 from 10:00am until the funeral hour of 1:00pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. James Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilmore Cemetery with Bro. Lenard Fitch officiating.
