James Edward Carpenter

Mr. James Edward Carpenter, age 68, of Orlando, Ky.  passed away Wed. Sept. 23rd, 2015 at the University of Kentucky  Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

He was born on April 23, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, Ky., a son of the late Thomas and Mary Edna Higgins Carpenter.  He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist in Orlando, and he  found great joy in hunting, mules/horses, guns, knives and working; was well known by Carpenter Custom Bulldozing Service, having owned and operated for over 40 years. On January 8, 1966 he was joined in holy matrimony to Patty Ann Sparks and from that union came three children:Darrell, Debra and  Donald.  

Those left to celebrate his life is his wife Patty Carpenter of Orlando, Ky;  his sons: Darrell Edward (Jessica) Carpenter of Orlando, Ky; and Donald Ray (Amy) Carpenter of  Crab Orchard, Ky. Grandchildren: Ashley Ann Christian, Matthew Corey Jones, Jessi Nichole Jones, Jaden Ray Carpenter, Jordan Suzanne Carpenter, and  Hannah Nicole Herren. Great grandchildren: Dillon Michael Christian, Jeffery Christian, Taylin Nichole Hembree, Brycen Case Thomas, Matthew Stormy Jones.  Brothers: Lowell Carpenter of Illinois; Alfred (Audrey) Carpenter  of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Ralph (Shirley)Carpenter of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Wayne (Debbie) Carpenter of Berea, Ky; Kenny (Carol) Carpenter of Georgetown, Ky; Jeff (Teresa) Carpenter of Berea, Ky; and Bill Carpenter of Crab Orchard, Ky;  Sisters: Mary Ballinger of Berea, Ky; and Janet Carpenter of Lexington, Ky. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Debra Ann Carpenter; Brother: Ray Carpenter; Sister: Carol Lamb.

Visitation for Mr. James E. Carpenter will be Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 from 6-9PM and Sat. Sept. 26, 2015 from 11AM-1PM at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted Sat. Sept. 26, 2015 at 1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery.
