Mrs. Janice (Burke) Vanzant, age 61 of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 at the UK Hospital. She was born on April 29th, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, KY to the late Robert William & Verna (Cromer) Burke. She had worked for R.T.E.C. as a Manager Dispatcher. Mrs. Vanzant took great enjoyment in crafts, religious activities, flowers and her family. She was also a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church.

Those left to celebrate her life are: her children Jason (Jeanette) Vanzant of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Vanessa Gail (Kevin) Tharpe of Owingsville, KY; 3 grandchildren; 1 step grandson; Brother: Roger (Irene) Burke of Roundstone, KY; her 2 sisters, Iva Reno of Maryville, TN & Kathleen (David) Cope of Mt. Vernon, KY; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Billy Gene, James Elmer & Robert Dale Burke; and her sister Joyce Lee (Burke) Everett.

A graveside service will be held 1PM on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 at the Sandhill Cemetery with Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in memory of Janice be made towards the upkeep of the Sandhill cemetery.
