Julia Melissa Lamb

Julia Melissa Lamb, 84 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on December 18th, 1932 to the late Lafey & Ida Mae (Kidwell) Lamb in Conway, KY. She attended the Church of God in Conway and she was the last living charter member of that church. She also took great enjoyment in Quilting, Gardening and caring for her pets.

Those left to celebrate her life are: her children, Mary Aileen Tate & Brenda Sue (Tom) Lesson both of Berea, KY; her five grandchildren; her eleven great grandchildren; her brothers J. T. Lamb, of Berea, KY & Charlie (Lois) Lamb, of Mt. Vernon, KY; her sisters Dora Smith & Jean Moody, both of Mt. Vernon, KY & Elvena Powers of Richmond, KY; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, Julia was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Mae Montgomery & a brother Forrester Lamb.

Visitation for Julia will be held from Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 from 10AM-1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with a funeral service following at 1PM with Bro. C. W. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lamb Cemetery.

Casket Bearers will be Lafey Smith, Gary Mullins, Eddie Barrett, Thomas J. Lesson, Johnathan Barrett, Albert Barrett & Gene Collins.
