Hello,
Lewis was a class mate when he was going to Brodhead school.
I remember Lewis as being a happy person, who loved to play basketball.
Although I do not know the family, and they don't know me, I know what it is like to lose a loved one, having lost both parents and a my only brother.
I pray for the family, that God will grant you the comfort and peace that only HE can give. There will be a great reunion some day!

I always recall Lewis as a kind, good Christian man...I can't remember seeing him without a smile on his face.  Although no words can really help to ease the loss your bear, just know that your family is close in our every thought and prayer.
"Do not fear for I am with you.  Do not be dismayed for I am your God  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  Isaiah 41:10

Lewis was a wonderful man. He was a strong Christian man. I grew up with you girls and we were together a lot.  Marcia and Melanie are two of the best friends I've ever had.  Lewis always treated me like one of his own girls. I will always have fond memories of the time I spent with your family growing up. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss. Nothing can make you miss him less or take away the hurt but you can know for sure that he is now well with Jesus.

One of my warm memories of growing up on Brindle Ridge was the fun with Lewis, Doris, and Jenny!  Nancy and Tammy are younger...    Although I have lived in NC since 1964,  Lewis was always the warm and friendly person I had known years ago.   He was small in stature but a giant among men in character and values.   His dedication to the work of the Gideon International in Rockcastle will be long remembered.   It is with extreme sadness that I send my thoughts to his family.   There is little to compare with loss of a parent.  My special love to Doris and Jenny...our families enjoyed a memorable relationship.   I care that you are hurting from this loss. I pray you will be brightened by the happy memories!

To the immediate family (spouse, daughters & sisters) I know you will miss Lewis here on earth so very much but be comforted by the fact that God has a Great Place for him, and the fact that time has a way of bringing along memories to give you thoughts of the best times you spent with your husband, father & brother.

Lewis and I had some pretty tough times helping coach our team through their games after the fact when we would meet up while he was working with the county (lol) and I will carry those memories through with me.

May God give each of you comfort through this phase of life everlasting.
