Margaret Marie Owens

Mrs. Margaret Marie Owens, 80 of Brodhead, departed this life on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 at the Rockcastle Hospital with family by her side. She was born in Oskaloosa, IA on January 13th, 1937 to the late Pearl Preston & Alice Irene (Stonehocker) Baker. On June 6th, 1953 she was united in Holy Matrimony to James Owens Sr. and from that union came James, Jr., Timothy, Dana , and Robert Lee . She and James enjoyed 53 years together. She retired as owner/operator of the London Harley Davidson Cycle Barn of London, Ky.  and had worked at the County  Extension Office as a Nutrition Assistant for 10 years. Margaret was  member of the Christian Church and the Orinate Homemakers “Rise N Shine” Club. She found great enjoyment in making cakes, crocheting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to celebrate her life are: her children : Timothy Lewis (Kathee) Owens of Brodhead, Ky ; Dana Roy (Sheila) Owens of Crab Orchard, KY; and Robert Lee (Geneva) Owens of London, Ky.  her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her brother Homer  Baker of TX; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice and/or Poplar Grove Cemetery upkeep.

Private Services will be held at a later date.
