Mary Lee (Mabes) Houk

Mary Lee Mabes Houk, age 58, Brodhead, Ky., wife of Earl Houk, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.  She was born in Clairborne County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late
Willie and Julia Norton Mabes. Mary was of the Penetcostal faith, a homemaker and caregiver.  She enjoyed knitting and taking care of others.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Earl Houk; 3 children: Jennifer Lynn Bullock (Roy) of Sand Springs, Ky., Cathy Denise Houk ( Jason Gregg) of Wildie, Ky., and Johnathon Earl Houk of Brodhead, Ky.; 4 grandchildren: Savannah Faye Wilkerson, Casaundra Lee Wilkerson, Adam Ryan Bullock and Matthew Steven Bullock. Also surviving are 6 brothers: Esco Mabes, George Mabes, Buster Mabes, Dave Mabes, Oscar Mabes and Willie Mabes, Jr. and 4 sisters: Ruby Davis, Margie Baird, Hazel Spurlock and Bonnie Mabes.

Besides her parents, Mary Houk was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Mabes.

Visitation for Mrs. Houk will be Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 10 am until 2 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 pm at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Randal Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Maretburg Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be Roy Bullock and Jason Gregg.
