Mary Oma (Barron) Hunt

Mrs. Mary Oma Hunt, age 81, of Somerset, KY., passed away Monday, January 2nd, 2017, at her residence. She was born on April 9th, 1935, to the late Parnick Lee and Flora (Stevens) Barron in Ottawa, KY. On May 5th, 1959, she was united in Holy Matrimony to her late husband Shirley Richard Hunt and from that union came two children: Bobby and Diane. She was a member of the New Hope Church of God and also attended the New Direction Worship Center. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Those left to celebrate her life are: her children Bobby (Lisa) Hunt of Berea, KY. and Diane Hunt & John Engle of Somerset, KY.; her grandson Joseph Stephens and his fiancé Kaitlyn Lawson of Somerset, KY.; her brother Robert (Irene) Barron of Mt. Vernon, KY.; as well as many friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband Shirley Richard Hunt; infants Peggy and Bonnie Hunt; brothers Ed Barron and Herman Barron; and sisters Gracie Owens, Martha Swinney, Maggie Baker and Locie Barron.

Visitation for Mrs. Mary Oma Hunt will be held Wednesday, January 4th, 2017, from 11am until 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hunt will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday, January, 4th, 2017, at the funeral home with Bro. Eddie Dick officiating. Burial will follow in Maretburg Cemetery.
