Rose Helen (Lucia) Baker

Mrs. Rose Helen Lucia Baker, age 73 of Brodhead, Ky., wife of John Baker passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Hospice Care Plus Compassionate Care Center, Richmond, Ky. with family at her side. She was born in Somers, Conn. on August 5, 1943  a daughter of the late Merrill Raymond Lucia Sr. and Helen Louise LaBombard. She had worked at Rockcastle Manufacturing and was a retired hotel housekeeper in Renfro Valley.  Mrs. Baker was a member of Brodhead Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, geology, boating and camping.

She is survived by her husband, John Baker whom she married November 7, 1976; her children:  Westley Perkins, Jr. of Brodhead, Ky., Sanda Baker of Frankfort, Ky. and Donna Turner of Stanton, Ky.; her grandchildren:  Leslie Ann Higgins, Tommy Perkins, Samantha Perkins, Westley Perkins III ,Christy Benge and Taran Saap;  six great-grandchildren; one brother: Merrill Lucia, Jr. of Chaplin, Conn. and one sister:  Melissa J. Allen (Milton R.) of Eufaula, Okla.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Visitation for Mrs. Rose Baker will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 5-8 pm and Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016 with Bro. Tracy Valentine officiating.  Burial will follow in the Negro Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
