Mrs. Ruby Broughton, age 73, wife of William Broughton, passed away Sat. Sept. 24, 2016 at the Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Brodhead, Ky.
She was born on June 10, 1943 in Brodhead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Victor and Vina (Southards) Spoonamore. She had been a homemaker and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. On August 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to William Broughton and from that union came two sons, David and Coy.
Those left to celebrate her life are her husband of fifty-seven years, William Broughton of Brodhead, Ky; her sons, Coy (Laura) Broughton of Brodhead, KY.; and David (Judy) Broughton of McKee, Ky. ; her grandchildren, Curtis and Jon Broughton; her brother, Charles (Wilma) Spoonamore of Lockland, OH.; and her sister, Betty (Burgess) Mullins of Mt. Vernon, KY.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Spoonamore; and sister, Dorothy Hasty.
Visitation will be Monday September 26th, 2016, from 6:00pm untill 9:00pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday September 27th, 2016, at 12:00pm at the Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Noah Broughton officiating.
Casket Bearers are Coy Broughton, David Broughton, Jon Broughton, Michael Broughton and Jordan Conner.
