Sam Henry Barron

Mr. Sam Henry Barron, age 79, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital with his family by his side.  He was born September 21, 1936, a son of the late Sam James and Lynda McClure Barron. He was of the Church of Christ faith and enjoyed fishing and working in his garden.

Sam Henry Barron is survived by his wife of 59 years: Roxie (Pearl) Barron; his 5 children: Dorothy Rose McClure, James Henry Barron, Randy D. Barron, Ronnie Lee Barron and Deaney Eugene Barron. Sam Barron is also survived by his six grandchildren: Tammy Fletcher, Benjamin Barron, Marvin Barron, Randy D.Wayne Hensley, Kristin Marie Barron and Peggy Joetta Barron. His four great-grandchildren: James Edward Fletcher, Ashley Nicole Fletcher, Buddy Scott Barron and James Marvin Sam Barron; one great-great grandson: Brantley James Fletcher; one half-brother: Jimmy Dean Barron; sisters: Wanda Navarre and Helen Cameron. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who will miss him very much.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents: Sam James and Lynda Barron, two children: Billy Earl Barron and (Infant) Violet Marie Barron, his brother: Willie Barron; his sisters: Dorothy McFerron, Lucy McClure, Zora Mae Brown, Louella Brown, Vina McFerron and Maggie Bradley; one son-in-law: Carl McClure; his step mother: Mary Barron.

Visitation for Mr. Sam Henry Barron will be held on  Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 11am-1pm  at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sam Henry Barron will be conducted on Saturday,  January 30, 2016 at 1 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel with Bro. Marvin Cromer Officiating, burial will follow in the Old Freedom Cemetery.
