Mrs. Alma Mae (Blanton) Marcum, age 76, wife of Denver, passed away Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation in Brodhead, KY.

She was born on March 31, 1942 in Ottawa, KY., a daughter of the late James Garfield and Stacie Catherine Smith Blanton. Alma was a member of Saline Baptist Church in Somerset, KY. On June 8, 1963 she was united in marriage to Denver Marcum and they enjoyed 54 years together.

Those left to celebrate her life are: Her husband, Denver Marcum; her sisters: Eula Lawrence and Martha Smithern of Brodhead, KY; and Janet (Melvin) Grollmus of Carlisle, Ohio. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, special friend Leona Williamson, and her very special friend MaKayla Scott, her brother in-law: Hollis Marcum of Mt. Vernon, KY and sister in-law, Glenda Anderson of Somerset, KY.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Faye Adams; brothers: James and Harold Eugene Blanton; brother in-law’s: Herbert Ray Lawrence, Dewey Barnett and Don Smithern.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12th for 6pm-9pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 13th at 2pm at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel with Bro. Noah Broughton. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
