Mr. Alonzo Hamm, age 92, of Brodhead, KY, passed away August 1, 2018.
Alonzo was born on July 21, 1926 in Ottawa, KY, to the late Robert L. and Maude Denny Hamm. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army, a faithful member of the Ottawa Baptist Church, and was a carpenter. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fox hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna Mae Bray Hamm, his children, Danny Bruce (Regina) Hamm of Brodhead, KY, and Tammy (Danny) Miller of Mt. Vernon, KY, his grandchildren Rachel (Clay) Thornton, Jessie (Emily) Hamm, Madisan Miller, and Logan Miller, and great-grandchildren Charlie Thornton and Elizabeth Thornton.
Besides his parents, Alonzo was preceded in death by his brothers: Delbert “Jake” Hamm, Dalmas “Hopper” Hamm, E.J. Hamm, and Alvin Hamm, and sisters: Eula Braun and Avis Benge.
Visitation for Mr. Alonzo Hamm will be Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals in Brodhead, KY. Funeral Services will take place Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals in Brodhead, KY with Bro. Noah Broughton and Bro. Luther Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Ottawa Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Jessie Hamm, Logan Miller, Clay Thornton, Shane Lynch, Charlie Thornton, and Matthew Bray. Honorary casket bearers will be Bob Wright, Harold Brown, Bobby Lawrence, and Paul Noe.
