Billy Joe Shafer

Billy Joe Shafer, 63 husband of Teresa, departed this life on Monday, September 4th, 2017 at the UK Hospital. He was born on April 16th, 1954 in Madison County, KY to Bobby Joe Shafer and Willene (Woodall) Adams. He had worked for the State of Kentucky Highway department and he enjoyed attending car shows, coon hunting & fishing, farming and spending time with his grandson. He was a Master Mason belonging to the Brodhead Lodge F. & A.M. #566.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his wife Teresa Shafer of Brodhead, KY; his son Eric Dale Shafer of Brodhead, KY; his mother Willene Adams of Brodhead, KY; his grandson Lucas Connor Shafer of Harrodsburg, KY; his brothers Mickey (Rita) Shafer of Mt. Vernon, KY & Roger Shafer of Brodhead, KY; his sisters Kathryn Bingham & Special Sister Deanna Adams both of Brodhead, KY; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his father, Billy Joe was preceded in death by his Step Father Jimmy Pete Adams; son Ellis Jason Thomas and Special Aunt Jean Wilmott.

Visitation for Billy Joe will be held from 6PM-9PM on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with a Masonic service beginning at 7PM.

Funeral Services will be conducted 12PM on Friday, September 8th, 2017 at the funeral home with Bro. Randall Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery. 

Casket Bearers will be Tommy Woodall, Silas Shafer, Seath Reopelle, Dylan Taylor, Jordon Casteel & Zacharie Combs.
