Cora Ann (Bullock) Sowder

Ms. Cora Ann Sowder, age 91, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY.

Cora was born on October 5, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, KY to the late Estil and Myrtle (Abrams) Bullock. She married Glen Sowder on November 23, 1946 and from that union came one son:  Lonnie Everett Sowder.  She was of the baptist faith, was an insurance underwriter and housewife, and she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. 

Those left to celebrate her life are her son:  Lonnie Everett Sowder of Union, KY; two grandchildren:  Jason Sowder and Brian Sowder, two great-grandchildren:  Logan Sowder and Turner Sowder; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Glen Sowder, and daughter-in-law:  Barbara Sowder.

Visitation for Ms. Sowder will be Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 11:45 am until time for the funeral at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Perpetual Care Fund at Elmwood Cemetery.
