Coy Kirby Obituary

Mr. Coy Kirby, age 76, of Livingston, KY, husband of Hazel, passed away at his home on Friday, January 4, 2019.

 

Coy was born a son of the late Sylvester Kirby, and the late Mollie Nicely, on July 9, 1942, in Sandhill, Ky. He proudly served his country through the United States Marine Corps for several years. He was united in marriage to Hazel Collins, May 2, 1970, and they enjoyed 48 years together. He was a member of Pinehill Missionary Baptist Church. He often enjoyed coon hunting, sports, and gardening. He was a member of the Lions Club in Livingston.

 

Those left to celebrate his life are his wife Hazel Collins Kirby of Livingston, KY; his children: Wendy Daugherty and Trent of London, KY, Kimberly Creech and Ralph Elia of Hillsborough, NC, Kyle Kirby and Kelly of Eldridge, Iowa, and Christopher Kirby and Regina Vanwinkle of Livingston, KY; 13 grandchildren: Hollie Daughery, Tyler Creech, Christopher Creech, Macey Creech, Chassidy Creech, Spencer Creech, Zachary Creech, Kaden Kirby, Connor Kirby, Cameron Kirby, Kaleb Kirby, Ethan Kirby, Hailey Kirby; three great-grandchildren Carter Creech, Jaxson Creech, and Romee Martin; a brother: Ray Kirby and Gail of Sandhill, KY; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a child: Gregory Blaine Kirby; and siblings: Cecil Faulkner, Donald Faulkner, Chloa Blackburn, Wilma Thomas, Trilba Reynolds, Gloa Ruffin, Goldie Thomas, and Vivian Board.

 

Services for Coy will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019, at Sandhill Baptist Church, beginning with the visitation from 11am-1pm, followed by the funeral at 1pm, with Bro. Clyde Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery.
