Mr. Donald Lee VanHook age 82, of Eubank, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at his son’s residence in Stanford, KY.
Donald was born on March 31, 1937, in Pulaski County, KY, a son of the late Joe VanHook and the late Lura Berthena Ping VanHook. He was the widower of Mae Etta Benge VanHook, and Betty Simpson VanHook. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed hunting, and playing rook and horseshoes. He was a member of F & Am Mason at 639 Woodstock, for 50 years, where he served as past master.
Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Donnie VanHook and Vicky of Stanford, KY, Gary VanHook and Judy of Somerset, KY, Annette VanHook Morse and Chris of Inverness, Fl., and Amy Judy and Doug of Ashville, NC; step-children: Steve Cummins and Sharon of Crab Orchard, KY, and Debbie Jasper of Lancaster, KY; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers: James Clyde VanHook and Mary of Crab Orchard, KY, and Harold VanHook and Carol Ann of Brodhead, KY; one sister Lois Ricketts of Lexington, KY; as well as a host of many friends and neighbors.
Besides his parent and his wife he was preceded in death by a daughter: Trudy Benge Todd; three brothers: Carter VanHook, Barry VanHook and infant Junior VanHook; and an infant sister Helen VanHook.
Services for Mr. VanHook will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, beginning with the visitation on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 5pm-8pm. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 11am, with Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Grove Cemetery.
