Elmer Lee Chasteen

Mr. Elmer Lee Chasteen, age 84, of Berea, died Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Landmark of Lancaster Nursing Home in Lancaster, KY.

Elmer was born March 22, 1935 in Copper Creek, KY to the late John Chasteen and the late Ida Pingleton Chasteen.  He worked at Concrete Materials in Berea, and farmed.  He enjoyed  working with his animals, gardening, and was of the Holiness Faith. 

Those left to celebrate his life are his daughters Denise Miller of Copper Creek, KY; Donna (Jerry) Gray of Copper Creek, KY; and a son-in-law, “Tubby” Leger of Berea, KY; grandchildren:  Ronnie Miller, Tony Leger, Jessica Baker, Stacy Chasteen, and Jaime Gray; great-grandchildren:  A.J. Miller, Mason Miller, Rylan Miller, Courtney Baker, Mason Tackett, Justin Cope, Autumn Cope, and Myla Leger; and his sister, Dorothy Chasteen of Berea, KY.

Besides his parents, his was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Brock Chasteen; one daughter, Karen Leger; one son, Gary Lee Chasteen; and his son-in-law, Lonnie Miller; one grandchild Bobby Joe Miller; two brothers, Paul Chasteen and John Junior Chasteen; and one sister, Bertha Ellen Chasteen.

A graveside service for Mr. Elmer Lee Chasteen will be Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 4:00 pm at the Chasteen Family Cemetery in Garrard County with Donnie Pingleton officiating.
