Eugene Lawrence

Mr. Eugene Lawrence, 81 of Brodhead, passed away Friday, July 7th, 2017 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital with family by his side. He was born on November 7th, 1935 in Brodhead, KY., to the late Herbert & Mae Elizabeth (Brumett) Lawrence. On September 25th, 1959 he was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Betty Lou Brown and from that union came a son; Larry Eugene. They had enjoyed 48 years prior to her passing. Eugene was a farmer by trade and enjoyed basketball & football as well as gardening. He was a member of the Ottawa Baptist Church.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his son Larry Eugene (Jeanine) Lawrence of Brodhead; his grandchildren Dustin & Jacob Lawrence; his great grandchildren Zakkary, Brantley & Ivy Lawrence; his brothers Charles (Lois) Lawrence, Bobby (Lorene) Lawrence & Jackie (Doris) Lawrence, all of Brodhead; Evaline (Ronald) Reynolds of Eubank, KY.; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents and his wife, Eugene was preceded in death by: his brothers Herbert Ray Lawrence, Richard Lawrence, and infant brother; his sisters Margie Dean Blanton & Wanda Smith.

Visitation for Eugene will be held on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 from 6pm-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted 2pm on Sunday at the funeral home with Bro. Mike Hail officiating. Burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery.
