Mrs. Eyvonne Sharon (Saylor) McDaniel, age 81 from Brodhead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 in Tennessee.
Mrs. McDaniel was born in Lincoln County, KY, on July 18, 1937, a daughter of the late Millard Milton “Tony” Saylor, and the late Delia Allen Saylor. She was united in marriage to her husband Robert Estle McDaniel, on August 5, 1957. Robert and Eyvonne were married for 55 years and were known for their deep love for each other. Robert passed on January 27, 2012.
Mrs. McDaniel was an active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville, Hedgeville Baptist Church in Hedgeville, and finally, Brodhead Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and hosted many activities for youth and adults in her home through the years. After her children were in school, she managed the cafeteria at Jennie Rogers Elementary School in Danville and then worked in the office of her husband’s insurance agency. She was active in all her children’s activities and most especially as a high school band parent. She was a gracious hostess, an inspired baker, and enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting, and hosting gatherings of her family and friends. Her home was always full of laughter and love.
She is survived by her children: Martha McDaniel Buckner (Robert) Nashville, TN, Robert Estle McDaniel Jr. (Sue Lynn) of Bowling Green, KY, and Melanie McDaniel Yankey (Greg) of Lexington, KY; her grandchildren: Emily Loyd Buckner, Anna Buckner Hayman (Trey), John Alan Yankey, and Madeline Anne Yankey; her sisters: Hilda Mullins of Ohio, and Mary Neville Cash (Eddie) of Brodhead, KY; as well as a host of many friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Juanita Stanley, and Lela Byerly.
Visitation for Mrs. McDaniel will be Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 5-8PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11AM at Brodhead Baptist Church with Bro. Ralph Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
