Fred Anderson McFerron

Mr. Fred Anderson McFerron, age 89, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

He was born on February 13, 1930 in Hansford, KY, a son of the late Sylvester and Mary Helen Cromer McFerron.  He was a member of First Church of Jesus Christ and he found great joy in hunting deer, turkey, and squirrels and fishing.  On July 30, 1953 he was united in marriage to Irene Graves, and from that union came three children Kathy Faye, Michael Lynn, and Robby Shannon McFerron.  They enjoyed 65 years of marriage.

Those left to celebrate his life are his wife:  Irene McFerron of Brodhead, KY; his children:  Kathy Faye McFerron-Payne of Mt. Vernon, KY; Michael Lynn (Shana) McFerron of Copper Creek, KY; and Robby Shannon (Vickie) McFerron of Eubank, KY; five grandchildren:  Jimmy Payne, Makayla (Dustin) Bullock; Jacob Tyler McFerron, Brandy (Billy) Robinson and Azlynn McFerron; five great-grandchildren:  Noah Payne, Emma Robinson, Jaxon Robinson, Cordelia Payne, and Beatrix Payne; brothers:  Andrew (Flossie) McFerron of Mt. Vernon, KY; and Robert (Rhonda) McFerron of Mt. Vernon, KY; sisters:  Hazel Miller of Brodhead, KY, Margie Barron of Brodhead, KY; and Irene Graves of Brodhead, KY; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edward McFerron and a sister, Evelyn Mink.

Visitation for Mr. Fred McFerron will be Wed. July 17, 2019 from 6-9 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 2 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Wendell Martin officiating.  Pall Bearers will be Jacob, Mike, and Robby McFerron, Jimmy Payne, and Clinton and Keith Graves.  Burial will follow in Skaggs Creek Cemetery.  Charitable contributions can be made to The First Church of Jesus Christ in Sand Springs, KY.
