Ms. Glenna Overbay, age 74, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Glenna was born on April 7, 1945 to the late Jess and Rissie Hurley. She worked for many years at the sewing factory in Mt. Vernon, and was a much loved babysitter. Glenna was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church, enjoyed her children, grandchildren, her dog Daisy, and being Mamaw to many.
Those left to celebrate her life are her two sons: Richard (Tammy) Barnes, Jr. of Red Hill, KY; and Scott (Jaime) Barnes of Brodhead, KY; two grandchildren: Brandon Barnes, and Jessica Parrett; and a step-grandson: Caleb Smith; four great-grandchildren: Davin, and Saydee Barnes, and Harper and Nash Parrett.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Richard Eugene Barnes, and her second husband: Junior Overbay.
Visitation for Ms. Glenna Overbay will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 6-9 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 15, 2019, at 2pm with Bro. Clyde Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
