Helen (Mosley) Abney

Mrs. Helen Mosley Abney, age 84 of Brodhead, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.

Helen was born December 2, 1934 in Hyden, KY, to the late Granville and Nellie Fields Mosley.  She married James Kenneth Abney on September 19, 1952. She was a tax preparer, a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church, enjoyed crafts, reading, gardening, flowers, and her grandchildren.

Those left to celebrate her life are two daughters:  Brenda (Earl) Bullock of Somerset, KY, April Abney (Chris Dillingham) of Brodhead, KY; four grandchildren:  Shannon E. Bullock, Melanie Elaine Bullock, River Grace Dillingham, Ronin Thane Dillingham; two great-grandchildren:  Logan Bullock, Keegan Bullock; two brothers:  Ronald (Mary) Mosley of Chapel Hill, NC, Ralph (Kathy) Mosley, of Deland, FL, four sisters:  Audrey (Paul) Noe of Brodhead, Jean Noe of Crab Orchard, Sophia Hurd of Cincinnati, OH, and Carol Bullock, of Brodhead, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons:  James Edward Abney, and Gary Wayne Abney; one sister:  Verena Lakes; brothers-in-law:  Ronnie Lakes, Everett Bullock, John Hurd, and Gene Noe.

Services for Mrs. Helen Mosley Abney will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals in Brodhead, KY.  Visitation for Mrs. Helen Mosley Abney will be Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 6-9 pm and Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 12 pm until time for the funeral service at 2 pm. with Bros. Jason Brown and Johnny Strange officiating. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be:  Shannon Bullock, Logan Bullock, B.J. Noe, Steve Abney, Danny Abney, and Gerald Owens.  Honorary Casket bearers will be:  Ronin Dillingham and Keegan Bullock.
