James Calloway Brummett Jr.

Mr. James Calloway Brummett, Jr. age 78 of Brodhead, Ky., husband of Bonnie passed away tragically Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at his home.

He was born on August 2, 1939, in Harlan, Ky., a son of the late James Calloway Brummett, Sr. and Marlie Hopkins Brummett.  He had been a long time service station manager and was employed with Somerset Refinery for over forty years.  He was of the Pentecostal faith and found great joy in hunting, fishing, farming and his grandchildren.  In February 1958 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Meece, and from that union came two sons: Dennis and Darrell. 

Those left to celebrate his life are ;His wife of 60 years, Bonnie Brummett of Brodhead, Ky.; His sons: Dennis Brummett (China) of Brodhead, Ky; and Darrell Brummett (Leeann Adams) of Brodhead, Ky. His grandchildren: Karen Denise and Nathan Ray Brummett. His great-grandchildren: Toby James Nathanel Brummett, Bailey Elizabeth Terry, Kelsey Rae Terry and Vayda Rae Brummett. His brothers: Billy Ray, Effie (Marian), and  Ronnie (Tracy) Brummett of Brodhead, Ky; and Bobby Brummett of Broughtown, Ky. His sisters: Pearlie Lawson (Kenneth) of Indiana; Ruby Jewell Bryant (Charles) of Brodhead, Ky; Carolyn Woodall (Donnie) of Brodhead, Ky; and Sharon Bray (Roger) of Brodhead, Ky.  As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 6-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 5, 2018, at 11 AM with Bros. Donald King and Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
