John Purcell Obituary

Mr. John Purcell, age 76 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Laurel Heights in London, KY.

He was born on December 28, 1941 in Rockcastle Co., a son of the late Everett and Mary McLaughlin Purcell. He was of the Protestant faith, served in the Armed Forces, and was a member of the American Veterans Association. He found great joy in UK basketball, and was a collector of many things.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his children: Michelle Purcell of Mt. Vernon, KY. and Anna Purcell of Louisville, KY. His grandchildren: Stacey Fields, Mickael Brewer, Rochelle Peterson, Danielle Brown and Nicole Purcell. His nine great grandchildren. His sister: Bonnie Cole of Atlanta, GA. As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Childress.

Visitation for Mr. John Purcell will be Friday, October 5, 2018 from 11AM until Funeral time at 2PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Josh Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
