Jones "Jay" Dempsey Ramsey

Jones “Jay” Dempsey Ramsey Jr., 83 of Mt. Vernon, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born on January 20th, 1934 to the late Jones Dempsey Sr. & Katie (Gentry) Ramsey in Mt. Vernon, KY. He had proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he achieved Chief Petty Officer, for 21 years. “Jay” was a member of the Central Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, driving, trucking, watching NASCAR and playing with his dogs, all while wearing his overalls. “Jay” was very outgoing and enjoyed fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his wife, Sandra Lynn (Dailey) Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, KY; his children Nick, Ron & Tracy (Jay) all of Middleburg, FL.; his grandchildren Ryan (Tara) Ramsey, Shane (CJ) Smith and Chelsea Smith; his great-grandchildren Robby & Rachel Ramsey and J.D. & Jameson Smith; and many friends and neighbors.

“Jay” put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ. He believed the words of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” “Jay” is in Heaven. Will you be there someday with him?

A Memorial Service for “Jay” will be held @ 1:00PM on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at the Central Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with Bro. Mark Eaton officiating.
