Joseph Brown

Mr. Joseph Harrison Brown, age 88 of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio.

He was born on November 15, 1929 in Brodhead, Ky., a son of the late Abe Harrison and Susie Barker Brown.  He retired from Ford Motor Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio after 31 ½  years of service. He was of the Church of Christ faith and found great joy in auctions, yard sales, family gatherings, horses and the outdoors.  He served his country in the U.S. Armed Forces and was a member of the F & AM #119 of Goshen, Ohio.  On December 24, 1954 he was united in holy matrimony to Norma Jean Hopkins, and from that union came two daughters, Debbie and Sherry.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Norma Jean Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; his children: Debbie (Tony) Litmer of Union, Ky; and Sherry (Jeff) Herrmann of Cincinnati, Ohio; his five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; his brother: Shirle (Delsey) Brown of Crab Orchard, Ky; his sisters: Dovie Lou New of Somerset, Ky; Glenda (Roger) Campbell of Nancy, Ky; and Sadie Mae Carr of Newton, NC.  As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Frank and Jasper Brown; and sisters: Margie Brayley, Edith Thompson, Verbina Engman and Vivian Brown.

Visitation for Mr. Joseph Brown will be Friday, November  24, 2017 from 11Am-1PM with funeral services following at 1PM, with Bro. Curt Herrington officiating; burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Crab Orchard, Ky.
