Harris Family,

Aunt Julie always invited us to spend a couple of days at her and Uncle Les' home during our childhood visits to Mount Vernon and our grandparent's farm. They were special times where she spent time with me teaching me the basic piano keys from her piano learner's book. She was so patient with me and I can still remember it to this day. All of the family were together one year at my grandparent's home and there was a old piano in the home. Aunt Julie sat down, played the piano and sang "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". It was beautiful - she was wildly talented. She always encouraged me to help my grandmother with chores and the garden when we stayed during the summer. She also had great compassion for animals and I saw it first hand when her heart was broken over the death of their dog when the children were young. I'm so fortunate to be her niece and remember all of these wonderful things.
She will be sadly missed. I hope these memories bring our family great comfort. Much love to you!
