Luther Smith Obituary

Mr. Luther “Gary” Smith, age 64 of Mt. Vernon, Ky. passed away Sat. April 7, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on August 3, 1953 in Ottawa, Ky., a son of the late Luther and Wanda Lawrence Smith. Gary had been a farmer and found great joy in sports, especially U.K. basketball. He was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his sisters: Darlene Cromer and (Bill) of Brodhead, Ky.; Judy Childress ( Benny) of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; and Debbie Smith (Rodger) of Mt. Vernon, Ky; his brother: Ronnie Smith (Louise) of Brodhead, Ky. And a special friend, Bonnie Decker. As well as a host of aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Smith.

Visitation for Mr. Gary Smith will be Wed. April 11, 2018 from 11AM-1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted Wed.April 11, 2018 at 1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Luther Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery.
