Merle Carr Obituary

Mrs. Merle Faye Jenkins Carr, age 85, of Brodhead, KY, widow of Rev. Charles F. Carr, passed away , January 11th, 2019 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY.

Faye was born in Cairo Georgia, a daughter of the late Vester Jenkins, and the late Bernice Gaines Jenkins on  March 5th, 1933.                               

She was a member of Hilton Head Church of God. She enjoyed her family and attending church.  

Those left to celebrate her life are her children: Frank Carr of Brodhead, KY; Patty Asher (Raymond, Jr.) of Brodhead, KY; Rev. Michael Carr (Lou Ann) of Hilton Head, SC; and Chris Carr (DeAnn) of Cabot, AR; eleven grandchildren: sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren;  one brother: Wayne Jenkins (Teresa) of Somerset, TX; two sisters: Mary Clark of MO and Gwen Montgomery of GA; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles F. Carr: two children: Felica Carr and Jeff Carr; one brother: Charles Jenkins; two sisters: Nelda Phelps and Eunice Collins.      

Visitation for Mrs. Faye Carr will be Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, from  11am  –    12pm, Funeral will be Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at 12pm, with Rev. Michael Carr officiating. Both will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. A private graveside service and burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
