Quillen C. Raines, 78, husband of Wilene Raines, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018. Born June 4, 1938 in Livingston, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Herb and Mae Raines. Quillen was a retired toolmaker and owner of Raines Camper Sales. Quillen married his childhood sweetheart, Wilene, in 1957. He was a very kind-hearted, hard-working man who could find a friend wherever he went. Quillen is preceded in death by 1 sister, Ruby Phillips. He is survived by 2 brothers Jack (Evelene) of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Bill of Dayton, Ohio; 2 sons Loren (Nancy) of Jefferson, Maine and Aaron (Mary) of Atlanta, Georgia; and 3 grandchildren Evan, Jacob and Anna Smith (Micheal) of Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 22 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Steve Nickels officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm as well as on Monday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley in Quillen’s memory.
