Mr. Richard Dean “Red” York, age 60 of Brodhead, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at his residence.
He was born on July 17, 1959 in Mt. Vernon, Ky., a son of the late John Holly and Nanny Elizabeth Day York. He had been a self employed Roofer. He found enjoyment in reading and fishing.
Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Michael York (Brandie) Day of Livingston, Ky; and Lindsay York of Lexington, Ky. His grandchildren: Kirsten, Haley, Breylan and Eli. Brothers: David York of Brodhead, Ky; Bill York of Brodhead, Ky; and Terry York of Brodhead, Ky. Sister: Darlene Coffey (John) of Brodhead, Ky. As well as a host of aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal Brown York; his brothers: Timmy, Johnny “Fuzz” Dwaine and Infant Elmer York.
At “Reds” request cremation rites have been honored. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 8, at 6pm, at Piney Grove Cemetery Chapel, with Gary Parker officiating.
