Roberta McGuire Obituary

Mrs. Roberta (Newcomb) McGuire, age 67 of Mt. Vernon, wife of Gary “Juicy” McGuire departed this life on Sunday, August 5, 2018 with family by her side at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond after a courageous battle with ALS.

She was born on May 19, 1951 in Hazel Patch Ky., a daughter of the late Robert Earl and Norma Whitt Newcomb.  On October 9, 1966 she was united in marriage to Gary McGuire and from that union came two children: Tammy and Tim.  She was a member of Brush Creek Holiness Church and attended Higher Praise Ministries.  She found great joy in flowers, camping, the outdoors and going to church.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Those left to celebrate her life are: her husband of 51 years, Gary Wade "Juicy" McGuire of Mt. Vernon; her children: Timothy Wade McGuire (Tricia) of Otttawa, Ky. and Tammy McGuire of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; her grandchildren: Timothy Chase McGuire and Austin Taylor King; her brothers: Farley Newcomb (Teresa) of Livingston, Ky; and Robert Earl Newcomb (Pam) of Hazel Patch, Ky; her sisters: Phyllis Lambdin (Jim) of Mt. Vernon, Ky. and Sharon Eversole (Donnie) of Mt. Vernon, Ky. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Newcomb, Sr.

Visitation for Roberta will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 6-9PM a Higher Praise Ministries with Funeral services being conducted Wed. August 8, 2018 at 11AM at Higher Praise Ministries with Bro. Chris Davidson and Bro. Allen Hensley officiating.  Burial will follow in Briarfield Cemetery.
