William Curtis Broughton

Mr. William “Bill” Curtis Broughton, age 84, of Brodhead, KY, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Bill was born September 2, 1935 in Crab Orchard, KY to the late Cecil and Clara Reynolds Broughton.  He married Ruby Spoonamore on August 29, 1959 and from that union came two sons:  Coy and David Broughton.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army and  retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot.  He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. 

Those left to celebrate his life are his sons:  Coy (Laura) Broughton of Brodhead, KY, and David (Judy) Broughton of McKee, KY; two grandsons:  Curtis Broughton and Jon Broughton; four brothers:  Kenneth Broughton of Hebron, KY, Ben (Carolyn) Broughton of Columbus, IN, Noah (Barbara) Broughton of Somerset, KY,  and Charles (Betty) Broughton of Bee Lick, KY; and one sister:  Helen (CJ) Petry of Eubank, KY as well as several nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Ruby (Spoonamore) Broughton, and two brothers:  Robert Broughton and Lowell Broughton.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 11:00 am until time for the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Noah Broughton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.  Casket bearers are:  Coy and David Broughton, Jon and Curtis Broughton, Michael Broughton, and Jordan Conner.
