Alvin David McClure

Alvin David McClure,  age 68 of Mt. Vernon, Ky. passed from this life on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

He was born on March 13, 1955 in Mt. Vernon, Ky., a son of the late Grover and Anita Leon Albright McClure.  He retired from Square D Maufacturing in Lexington, Ky. He attended Freedom Baptist Church and found great joy in working on old cars.  He was a member of I.B.E.W. Union of Square D. On May 23, 1975 he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Sims and they enjoyed 42 years together prior to her passing in 2018. 

Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Shonda Gross (Harold Wayne Gross, Jr.) of Stanford, Ky; and Rhonda Evans McClure of Berea, Ky.  His grandchildren: Annastaza Ringo (Edward),  Shayla Ann Gross, Logan Evans, Levi Evans, and Layne Evans.  His great  grandchildren: Amelia Rose Evans.  His brothers: James (Roberta) McClure, Ralph (Joanne) McClure, and Mike McClure.  His sisters: Jewell Kidwell, Elaine Murphy and Pauline Coleman. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, and wife ,  he was preceded in death by three siblings: Grover McClure, Jr., Pearl Smith and Frances McClure.
