OBITUARY NOTICE:

Mr. Asbil James Gentry, age 84 of Brodhead, Ky., departed this life on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Brodhead, Ky.

He was born on October 6, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, Ky., the son of the late F.E. and Ruby Jewell Sutton Gentry.  He was a member of Church of Christ and attended Stanford Church of Christ.  He found great joy in golfing.

Those left to celebrate his life is his son: Asbil James Jr. and wife Annette; his grandchildren: Tiffany Nicole Elliott (Robbie); his great grandchildren: Braxton Lee Meadows and Landon Blake Meadows; his great-great grandchild. Hagen Meadows. his sister: Luella G. Cass; the mother of his children: Doris Ann Fitch;  his niece: Susan Tankersley;  his double first cousin: Geraldine Robbins. And a special cousin, Kevin Robbins.   As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Visitation for Asbill Gentry will be Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 12Noon – 2 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, followed by funeral services at 2 pm.  with Kevin Robbins and Shelby Roy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh, John, Chris and Andrew Robbins, Braxton and Langdon Meadows, and Ethan, Eli and Oliver Robbins.
