Bennie Durham

Mr. Arie Ben “Bennie” Durham, age 86, of Crab Orchard, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Compassionate Care in Richmond.

Bennie was born on March 27, 1936, in Orlando, KY, a son of the late Aster and Mary Jane (Barnett) Durham. He was united in holy matrimony to Clella Jean Rucker on July 5, 1956, and they enjoyed 61 years together, prior to her passing in November 2017. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed wood working, and spending time with his family.

Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Rockwell Odell Durham & Mary of Copper Creek, KY, Ronald Owen Durham & Peggy of Richmond, KY, and Gladys Marie Dowell & Doug of Waynesburg, KY; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother: Roger Durham & Carolyn of Copper Creek, KY; two sisters: Dora Hooker of Copper Creek, KY, and Sue Wray of Danville, KY; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides his parent, he was preceded in death by his wife: Clella Jean (Rucker) Durham; three brothers: Glenn, Roy, and Amos Durham; and an infant sister Eva Mae Durham.

Services for Bennie will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, beginning with the visitation at 11am, until the time of the funeral service at 1pm, with Randy McPheron officiating. Burial will follow in the Durham Family Cemetery.
