Benton Bullock

Ronald Benton Bullock, age 78, of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Most importantly, in February of this year Benton accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Although Benton bravely battled Alzheimer’s disease, and his mind gradually faded, his sharp wit and enduring sense of humor remained a beacon of light for all who knew him.

He was born on January 30, 1947, in Mt Vernon, Kentucky, the son of Curtis Hubert and Ada Lena Bullock, both of whom Preceded him in death.

Benton was united in marriage to Theresa Wilburn Bullock, with whom he shared 58 years of unwavering love and partnership.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Wilburn Bullock of Mount Vernon; two children, Jeff Bullock his wife Sherry, and Lisa Brock and her husband Barry, all of Mount Vernon. He lived for and loved his little best-buddy ever, his dog, Asher.

Benton was the proud grandfather of five: Dustin (Makayla) Bullock, Kelsey (Jacob) Pelston, Brookelynn (Alex) Melton, Katielynn Smithern, and Alexis Brock; and great-grandfather to Hunter Pelston, Blakelynn, and Reid Bullock.

He is also survived by one brother, Harold Bullock of Somerset, Kentucky: one sister, Barbara, and her husband Delmas Bullock of Mount Vernon, Kentucky. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, dear friends, and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings: sisters Burnetta Norton, Claradeen Davis, Lura Robertson, and Sue Tabor; and brothers Gilbert Clinton Bullock, Leonard Bullock, Kenneth Bullock, and infant James E. Bullock.

Funeral services for Mr. Benton Bullock will be conducted on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, with Brother Jacob Pelston officiating. Interment will follow at Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Pallbearers: Barry Brock, Dustin Bullock, Gary Bullock, Billy Cummins, Alex Melton, and Dennis McClure.

Honorary Pallbearer: Leo Barnes, Buck Farthing, Cecil McKinney, Robbie Thomas, Delmas Bullock and Larry Ware (Wimp), Logan Rawlins.
