Betty Sue (Sebastian) Sandlin

Betty Sue Sandlin, 86, of Mt Vernon, Ky, departed this life on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at Rockcastle Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ky.

Betty was born on November 8th, 1939, in Breathitt Co., Kentucky to the late Melvin and Bonnie Frost Sebastian. On January 12th, 1957, Betty married Oliver Sandlin and from that union came six children, Debra, Teresa, Mona, Vivian, Bonita, and Mary.

Betty was a member of the Worldwide Church of God for 55 years. She was a housewife and she enjoyed Sewing, Gardening, Clogging, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with Family and Friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Debra  Green of Booneville, Ky, Mona (Mike) Mahan of London, Ky, Vivian Ingram of London, Ky, Bonita Browning of Howell, Michigan, Mary (James Michael) Sandlin of Mt. Vernon, her grandchildren; Damon Caudill, Shannon Jewell, Holly Green, David Jewell, Brad Ingram, Travis Green, Matthew Ingram, Katie Jewell, Mitchell Green, Britney Byrd, Chelsea Browning, Andrew Browning, and Kevin Browning, many great great grandchildren, her brothers; Melvin Sebastian Jr.  of Richmond, OH, Robert Lee Sebastian, her sisters; Helen Burrows of Booneville, Ky, Mildred Robinson of Richmond, Ky, Lucille Brewer of Richmond, Ky, Janie Vanderpool of Beattyville, Ky, Lockie Fox of Booneville, Ky, Wilma Dean Neeley of Booneville, Ky,   

Besides her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband: Oliver Sandlin, her child: Teresa Caudill, her grandchildren; Travis and Mitchell Green, her sisters; Gracie Wilder, Lillie Sebastian (infant), her brothers; Shelby Sebastian, Tony Sebastian, son in laws; Timmy Green, Michael Caudill, Michael Browning, and Gary Byrd.

Visitation for Betty will be Wednesday, March 18th, 2026, from 11am-12pm at Owens Chapel. Burial will follow in Maretburg Cemetery.
