Boyd Wayne Durham

 Boyd Wayne Durham, 76 of Mt. Vernon departed this life on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his residence. He was born on September 14, 1949 in Blue Springs, Ky. a son of the late George and Lucy (McFerron) Durham. Boyd was a Truck Driver for 53 years, being self employed for 20 years at Mid State Recycling.

He was of the Baptist faith, and found great joy in truck driving, riding side by side, gardening, fishing, watching TV, drinking beer, and spending time with his family and friends. On Dec. 7, 1979 he married Linda Jean (McClure) Durham and they enjoyed 40 years together prior to her passing 10-19-2020; they enjoyed dancing and listening to music together.

Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Boyd (Rebecca) Durham II of Orlando, Ky; April (Brad) Powell of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Austin (Morgan) Stewart of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Alexis Young (Kyle Young) of Science Hill, Ky; Tim (Michelle) Cincinnati, OH; Randy Durham of Cincinati, OH; George (Amanda) Durham of Lexington, Ky. His grandchildren: Haylee Durham, Dawson Durham, Ivy Lawrence, Landon Powell, Rhonda Hoskins, Amber Durham and LaDori Durham. His four great Grandchildren. His brother: Tubby Durham (Lorna) of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Special family member Denton McFerron. Special friends,  Buck & Jackie Wood.  As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two children, Wayne Junior Durham and Stacy Lynn Durham; Siblings: Virginia Durham, Rosella Mink, Vernon Durham, Larry Durham, Glenna Durham and Eugene Durrham.

Visitation for Boyd will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2025 from 11Am-1PM at Red Hill Baptist Church.  Funeral at 1PM,  Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
