Brenda Sue Hayes

Obituary notice:
Brenda Sue Hayes, age 50 of Mt. Vernon departed this life on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at her residence. 
 

She was born on August 31, 1974 in Mt. Vernon, Ky. to the late Barry Hayes and Julia Kidwell Hayes.  She had been an SRNA at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.  Brenda found great joy in thrift shopping, sleep overs with her grandkids, and spending time with her family. 
 

Those left to celebrate her life are her mother, Julia Blackburn of Mt. Vernon, Ky; her children: Bridgette Bowles (James, Jr.) of Orlando, Ky; and Brittany Lakes (Tyler Caldwell) of Somerset, Ky; her grandchildren: Jadynn Asher, Gunnar Lakes, Makynlee Lakes, Jameson Caldwell, Lyla Bowles and James-David Bowles. Her sisters: Sandra (James) Allen of Brodhead, Ky, and Angela Lovell (Jeff Kendrick) of Mt. Vernon, Ky.   As well a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors. 
 

She was preceded in death by her father, Barry Hayes. 
 

Visitation for Brenda Hayes will be Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5-7PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
