Carolyn (Dawson) Halcomb

Carolyn Halcomb, age 81, of Brodhead, KY departed this life on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY

She was born on May 25, 1942 in Stanford, Ky, a daughter of the late J.C. and Opal Marie Young Dawson.  She had been a Certified Medical Assistant who had worked at Sowder Nursing Home for 45 years. She was a long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. On September 1, 1961, she was united in marriage to Donald Ray Halcomb and they enjoyed 46 years together prior to his passing July 24, 2007. She found great joy in Sports-NASCAR/football/basketball/ baseball, she enjoyed cooking, especially for others;  and enjoyed eating out with her church family.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children: Billy Ray Halcomb of Brodhead, KY; Danny Dale Halcomb (Melissa) of Stanford, Ky; and Bobby Lee Halcomb of Brodhead, KY.  Her grandchildren: Lakin, Rachele, Angel, Blake and Gabe. Her five great grandchildren. As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lee Farris.
