Christine (Barnett) Scott

Mrs. Christine (Barnett) Scott, age 91, of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Christine was born on September 3, 1930, in Brodhead, KY, a daughter of the late Henry and Lily Webb Barnett. She was united in holy matrimony to Garvin Scott on May 5, 1951. They enjoyed 57 years together prior to his passing on July 18, 2008.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children Gary Wayne Scott of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Robert Estill Scott & Kathy  of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren: Kevin Dwayne Scott & Shanda, Michael Scott, Christy Michelle McKinley & Jonathan, Kelli Lynn Isaacs & Matthew, William Brashear, and Hunter Brashear & Caitlin; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Wiley Isaacs, Wesley Lyndon Isaacs, and Madelynn Mae Scott; two sisters: Irene Roberts of Erlanger, KY, and Josephine Rose of Franklin, OH; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Ray, Oscar, Dewey, Roy, and Charles Barnett.

Services for Christine will be held at Brindle Ridge Baptist Church, on Saturday, May 21, 2022, beginning with the visitation from 10:30am, until the time of the funeral at 12:30pm, with Ron Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Matthew Isaacs, Doug Roberts, Tommy Baldwin, Jonathan McKinley, and Michael and Kevin Scott.
